Photo of the Week
| Japanese Glass Float
In days gone by, blown glass floats, in intriguing shades of green and blue, were used by Japanese fishing crews to float their nets. Now that fishing vessels around the world use buoyant plastic, a blown glass float is a rare find - except on the beaches of Lincoln City, where more than 2,000 of them are found each winter. Road Trip
| Salishan, Siletz & the D I took a road trip with my honey last week to the Oregon coast, where
the shortest river in the world, the D, meets the ocean. This was not a
"roughing it" sort of road trip. Staying at Shalishan Spa & Golf Resort
is more like the "lap of luxury" sort of trip. In all fairness, two
weeks ago I woke up in a pup tent in the forest. Variety, they say, is
the spice of life. And I believe it. Highlights: Eating, sleeping, reading by the fire, golfing, beach combing, glass blowing, hiking, and nearby Devil's Lake. Read more here. |
