There's an App for That!
Tourism Kelowna has launched the final versions of Kelowna Wine Trails App for iPhone, Android and Blackberry.
This app can be used while in Kelowna or while planning a trip to Kelowna. It allows you to explore the wineries, find an existing wine trail or customize and map out your own. When you're done, you can share your selections with friends on Facebook or Twitter.

Kelowna Company Secures Major
Military Contract
Kelowna-based ArmorWorks has landed a $9.5 million sub-contract to make blast-absorbing seats and armored panels for 550 Canadian military trucks. The contract is part of a larger $1 billion contract held by General Dynamics Land Systems of London, Ontario to build light armored vehicles for the military.
At an announcement on February 22nd, ArmorWorks President and CEO Bill Perciballi said the deal will bring an additional 35 jobs to ArmorWorks Canada which is located where the Hiram Walker distillery was previously near Lake Country, and is expected to create an additional 85 jobs in in the region for machining, supplies and shipping.

Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) Announces Call for Applications for Clean Technology Funding

Canada is a global leader in developing clean technologies. To maintain this momentum, SDTC announced today its 21st call for applications, which will be open until April 18th, 2012.
SDTC is a not-for-profit corporation created and funded by the Government of Canada to finance and support the late-stage development and pre-commercial demonstration of clean technologies. SDTC supports technologies that address the challenges of climate change, clean air, soil and water, including technology solutions.
SDTC will host a series of webinars to guide prospective applicants through the process, ensuring the best ideas rise to the surface. Potential applicants are encouraged to review the Statement of Interest process and funding requirements.

Food Marketing 101, a Four-Part Workshop Series
Looking to sharpen your marketing edge? The Food Innovation Centre of BC is offering Food Marketing 101, a four-part workshop series to help producers and processors refine their marketing approach.
The workshops will be delivered in four independent modules. Each session will build towards a specific goal or action plan that participants can apply to their business.
The series starts Thursday, March 15. The first workshop will focus on the fundamentals, including:
* The role and goals of food marketing;
* Consumer trends in BC;
* How pricing works for commodities and differentiated
products;
* How to promote and sell your product;
* Visioning and goal setting.
