Anodyne Electronics Celebrates Two-Year Anniversary and Exceptional Growth
Even in these trying economic times, Anodyne Electronics Manufacturing has been able to retain the 47 employees who have been with the company since its inception and expand the company to 75 employees.
Anodyne started in the fall of 2009 when Northern Airborne Technology (NAT), now part of Cobham Avionics, elected to close manufacturing operations in Canada, creating an opportunity for a new, 100 percent employee-owned company to emerge.
Representatives of all three levels of the Federal Government as well as local politicians and the business community were present at AEM's two-year anniversary event on October 13, and commended AEM and its staff for the hard work they have put into building up the company.

Enhanced Immigration Program Promotes Investment and Jobs
The provincial government is taking steps to fur ther encourage business immigrants to invest in communities in regional BC through the BC Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). This is one of a series of steps as part of a commitment in 'Canada Starts Here - The BC Jobs Plan' to attract more entrepreneurs from other countries to help create jobs regionally.
The PNP provides accelerated permanent resident status to entrepreneurs and qualified workers based on labour market and economic development priorities. Over the next decade, British Columbia's Skills for Growth Strategy projects 1.1 million job openings due to economic growth and retirements. New immigrants will be needed to fill an estimated one third of all job openings. In 2010, one in every six economic immigrants to the province arrived through the BC PNP.
Among the changes, a new online investment matching service will link potential business immigrants to business opportunities in the regions, with a focus on small business succession. This service is scheduled to launch in November.
For details on this and additional steps being taken to promote investment and meet labour market demand, visit www.welcomebc.ca/pnp
