Jerry Wynn

Jerry Wynn was born in Ft. Myers prior to there being a hospital in Naples and is a fourth generation Floridian. He grew up hunting and fishing around Naples and started working in the family business when he was 11 years old.

He is currently CEO of Sunshine Ace Hardware and is an owner/member of other family businesses and Real Estate holdings. He has been married to Lisette for 32 years and has three married daughters and four grandchildren.

Jerry Wynn was inducted into THE Rotary Club of Naples in 1993 and his late father Don was a charter member of the Club in 1951.  He is a Past President of the Club and has served for years on just about every committee in Rotary. He has been awarded the Four Avenues of Service Citation, Rotarian of the Year, and the Four Way Test Award.

Not one to sit inside, he will be doing projects around the house, yard work, or in a boat and plays golf once a year just to keep the handicap under 30. Most weekends he will be found at his home in Marathon fishing or diving for lobster.  (or at least allowed to run the boat so Lisette can catch all the Lobster).

Excited For Grapes & Apes 2012!

Greetings!

In March 2011, our club accomplished something amazing!  All of us worked together on our inaugural Grapes & Apes event and knocked it out of the park!  Attended by more than 800 guests, we raised a grand total of $54,571.27, net of our expenses.  This money funded all of our club's foundation's charitable activities for the 2011-2012 Rotary year including scholarships, PolioPlus, Project Graduation, Project Backpack, S4TL, and more.

Our second annual Grapes & Apes event will be held at Naples Zoo on the evening of Saturday, March 24, 2012.  This year, we are stretching our goals even further!  We expect attendance to top 1,500, and the money we clear should reach "6 digits". This money will fund our club's foundation's activities for the 2012-2013 Rotary year, as well as help grow the Rotary Club of Naples Endowment Fund.

While the financial aspects alone make Grapes & Apes worthwhile, planning and executing the event is also a lot of fun!  As Rotarians, we believe in "Service Above Self" and we live according to the Four-Way Test.  When you help plan for Grapes & Apes 2012, you work closely with friends who share similar values.  The magic of fellowship is a hallmark of Rotary.

On that note, I want to thank fellow coordinators Rich Ahrens, Jay Crandall, Rich Kirschner, and Jerry Wynn for their dedication to the success of this fundraiser!

This week, our featured presentation will be about the planning for Grapes & Apes 2012.  We will have similar meetings on January 11, 2012 and March 14, 2012.  Grapes & Apes is so important to our club!  We need everyone in the club, including spouses, to help us pull this off!

Let's have fun as we work together and "reach within to embrace humanity"!

Yours in Rotary Service,

Frank
