Vocational Service:
Celebrate Our Professions

Greetings!

Vocational Service promotes ethics in business and recognizes the worth of all professions.  We have two Vocational Service projects this Rotary year:

  • Rotarians In Business:  Wouldn't you rather do business with a fellow member of our Rotary club?  The "Rotarians In Business" section of our Rotary club's website is a FREE opportunity for members in our club who are actively in business to share with the club what they do professionally.  The goal is to provide a forum for matching providers and consumers of products and services, creating a win-win benefit for both.  If you offer products or services that could benefit other members in our club, please contact project chair Rich Ahrens with the details (thanks for your help, Rich!).  There are already a few businesses showcased in Rotarians In Business.  Look at these as examples of what you could ask Rich to post.  Rotarians In Business is a unique benefit for members of the Rotary Club of Naples.  Don't be shy!  Tell your friends in Rotary about your profession!
  • Vocational Day:  Vocational Day is the annual opportunity for local businesses to present to our Rotary club what they do best.  On October 12, 2011, instead of meeting at the Naples Beach Hotel, we will split our meeting between two locations (to be announced soon) for Vocational Day.  Sign-up sheets will be passed around in September.  Thanks to project chair, Steve Fontana, for organizing this year's locations!

One of the hallmarks of Rotary is the vocational diversity of its membership.  Each of us specializes in a particular profession.  Let's celebrate what each of us brings to the table!

Yours in Rotary Service,

Frank

This Week's Meeting

Topic:           Municipal Government in the Age of Austerity

Speaker:       Justin Land

  • This presentation will discuss the current municipal market, fiscal situation of state and local government as well as macro-economic factors relating to the municipal bond market.

Meetings

  • Please note that due to the hotel's renovation, we will NOT meet on Wednesday, September 7th.  The Beach Hotel is installing a new air conditioning system that week and without any AC they are unable to provide us with a meeting space.

Rotary-Wear

  • Club clothing is still 30% off! Check out the items by the check-in tables!
Accounts Receivable
  • July invoices will be 60 days past due on September 6.  Those who are on the Accounts Receivable report 60 days past due should expect a second reminder email from our Executive Secretary, Sue Cobb, as well as a second reminder phone call from our Treasurer, Steve Stolz.  The Board of Directors will actively discuss the escalating Accounts Receivable status of these individuals at our next board meeting.
