Greetings!
During the month of May, NeighborWorks® Rochester was excited to welcome some additional staff to our Healthy Blocks and Lending departments.
We also realized since spring was upon us, our office curb appeal could use a little boost. Staff joined together for a clean-up and we spent the day weeding, planting and mulching (we've even got some great Before & After pictures to prove it).
And don't forget about our upcoming 2nd Annual Pix and Mix event! Tickets are now for sale, so if you're planning to attend the event and need tickets, drop by our office. There's also still a few more days to submit photography for the competition, so click here if you still need to submit.
Your input is always valued. If you have any questions or comments, drop us a line at nwinfo@nwrochester.org.

Don't Forget!

Tickets are now for sale! If you're planning to attend the Pix and Mix and need tickets, please drop by our office at 570 South Ave., Rochester, NY 14620. Tickets are $5 in advance, $10 at the door.
The 2nd Annual Pix and Mix event will be held at the Rochester Public Market on Wednesday, June 9 from 4 to 7 PM. The event will
include: an exciting photo competition with prominent guest judges in which
participants will submit wonderful photographs of people, places and things in
Rochester, a live band performance by Dan Schmitt and The Shadows, food and beverages provided by Public
Market businesses, as well as an opportunity to shop in those businesses.
Thank You to our 2010 Pix and Mix Sponsors

Welcome Maggie Toro and Megan McNiven!
We were pleased to welcome two new staff members to our team this month.
Maggie Toro is new to our Lending Department and will be joining NeighborWorks® Rochester as a Homeownership
Coordinator. Maggie will be responsible for teaching Financial Literacy, First Home Club enrollment and will also offer one-on-one credit counseling.
Maggie earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from St. Francis College in Brooklyn and she comes to us from Consumer Credit Counseling and has over 8 years in collections experience.
We were also pleased to welcome Megan McNiven from St. Lawrence University. Megan is a senior at St. Lawrence majoring in History and minoring in Economics. This summer, Megan was accepted into the University of Rochester's competitive Urban Fellowship Program and is joining our Healthy Blocks staff for 10 weeks to learn more about urban issues and to help out with community surveys.
The Urban Fellows Summer Program emphasizes civic engagement, promotes
learning about urban issues, and encourages a celebration and
appreciation for cross-cultural issues and urban life.
Welcome to the team Maggie and Megan!
