3 Days to Go!
Three more days to keep moving, log activity, and win $25 cash in our daily drawing.

We hope you are enjoying the ON THE MOVE challenge and find it rewarding as you incorporate regular physical activity into your life. As a result of your participation, L&T will donate money to Augie's Quest, the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) that is searching for treatments and a cure for ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease as it is commonly called.

We urge you to join us in our quest to find a cure for Lou Gehrig's disease by donating $1 to this research initiative. With every donation, 100% of your money goes straight to research and helping eradicate this debilitating disease. To make a donation, click here
and press the Donate Now button. L&T would like to thank you for any support that you can provide.

All activity for the 25 days must be logged by June 30 for the grand prize drawing. For easy activity logging, visit
www.LTwell.com/onthemove and click on the Log Activity Now button.

Keep moving and finish strong!

Exercise Reduces the Risk of New Types of Cancer

According to the American Cancer Society, cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States. Although much research indicates that exercise reduces and delays the onset of colon, breast, and endometrial cancers, a study published this year in the American Journal of Epidemiology, found that physical activity also decreases the risk for other types of cancers.

Researchers monitored 79,771 men and women aged 45-74 years for nine years. All participants reported their level of physical activity and then were tracked for cancer incidence. A total of 4,334 cases of cancer were diagnosed. Results indicated that daily physical activity was significantly associated with a decreased risk of all types of cancer including liver, pancreatic, and stomach cancers.

Weekly Motivational Tips

  • Relax!  Did you know exercising is a great way to reduce stress?  Next time you are feeling some pressure, try going for a jog or a bike ride.  You might be surprised at the difference it makes!
  • Stay loose!  Stretch out after your workouts. It will allow for greater freedom of movement, improve your posture, increase your relaxation abilities, reduce muscle tension and lower your risk of injury.
  • Listen to you body!  Pain is not always gain.  You can see huge results from moderate-intensity activity most days of the week.  Everyday make a plan of what you feel you can accomplish and then do your best for that day.
