- DIY to the rescue! Do car washes, housework, gardening and yard work yourself instead of hiring someone else to do it. Not only will you save money, you'll also burn extra calories in the process.
- Take a hike! Plan your family outings and vacations to include physical activities, like hiking, backpacking and swimming.
- Work in increments! Try walking for just 10 minutes before or after each meal. Three 10-minute walks will give you the same benefit as one 30 minute walk.
- Have fun with it! If you don't think the gym is for you, try signing up for a dance class or another activity that interests you. You might be surprised at how active you can be while still doing something you enjoy.
