Iggy Summer Camp 2

Its that time of year again!  Time to register for the 3nd annual Creative Writing/Character Development and Illustration Camp hosted by Children's Author, Melissa M. Williams, with guest Illustrator Ryan Shaw!

The Iggy the Iguana Character Development Workshop is designed to teach students how to think outside the box and create unique characters with interesting stories.  The author, Melissa Williams, will discuss the way she used her own experiences with her pets to create the fictional characters in Iggy the Iguana while teaching the use of archetypes, conflict resolution, and original storyline development tactics.  Students will learn how to bring their own ideas to life through words and illustrations as professional illustrator, Ryan Shaw, explains the process of connecting to the author's characters with art.  During the week, the students will have the opportunity to use their newly learned skills to come up with their own character and develop a unique short story that will be eligible for publication in the "I Write Short Stories by Kids for Kids" Contest.

The Workshop Includes:

·      5 Days of Creative Writing Instruction

Thank you to the Adult Creative Writing and Publishing Industry Class Attendees!

Last month I had the opportunity to teach a 2 Evening Workshop to aspiring Adult Writers in the Children's Book Industry. Many of you have asked when I will offer this workshop again. Please email me to put you on the info list, as I do not offer this class often and will send out a direct email to those interested.

Testimonial:

"Melissa, thanks so much for the class last week.  It was wonderful!  I spent all weekend tweaking my book from what I learned in your class.  You answered all the questions I have had rolling around in my head for quite awhile, and also upped my confidence by making me realize that my story and my plan for publication are both right on track.

Thanks so much for all your advice and the extensive materials you provided us.  I feel much more confident sending my story out into the scary world of publishing.

I would like very much to keep in contact with you.  I love your sweet personality and am so impressed by your intellect and ambition.  Hope you don't mind hearing from me once in awhile as I take the steps toward my goals."

-L. Allen, Workshop Attendee
