CONGRATULATION TO MORGAN MAYER
AND LOGAN HIBBELER!

Herbert and Star were chosen as last year's character winners by two student writers in the 2009 Character Development Creative Writing Summer Camp! Herbert and Star are now well developed characters in Turtle Town thanks to the Turtle Town critique group!
Would you like to be a part of Turtle Town?

Register for one of the summer creative writing camps in Houston to see what the writing and editing process is all about. All of the students who participate this summer will get to read parts of the Turtle Town Unpublished Manuscript and offer their personal feedback to the author.

This is a unique opportunity for children who have always wanted to be an author or illustrator, as each student gets the opportunity to be behind the scenes with the LongTale Publishing team.

TIMMY WANTS TO SEE YOU THERE!

There are still spots left in the Story and Songwriting Workshop on Saturday July 10th!  Meet international recording artist, Misha Williams, as she shares her song writing skills with 4th-8th graders. Learn some of the same techniques used by professionals. Misha has written with hit song writer Rick Giles, whose songs have been recorded by George Strait, Tim McGraw, and Rascal Flatts and has written with hit writer Jason Blume, songs recorded by Jesse McCartney, the Backstreet Boys, and Collin Raye.

Students will also learn story symbolism that can later be turned into poetry and song as Children's author Melissa M. Williams teaches the skills behind archetype and storyline development.
