Employer Group Waiver Plans (EGWPs, often pronounced "Egg Whips") are becoming increasingly important as federal legislation impacts the value of the Retiree Drug Subsidy option. Retiree drug options give brokers the opportunity to ride to the rescue of their clients by helping them transition to an EGWP rather than accepting the retiree drug subsidy, which has changed considerably with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
