 As the year goes forward...
...we have a very big ambitions for H.O.P.E in 2012 and are taking a new approach to funding due to ongoing growth in the projects we currently support and opportunities to support new worthwhile causes.
It's so encouraging that we are seeing such great progress in the young adults that already benefit from the preparation programmes, and as this success grows so does the queue of new kids wanting to take part. Furthermore we have identified a number of potential new projects that we would really like to support, including a good old fashioned Youth Club (unheard of here in Cambodia) and a training programme for youth social workers. Since the model we employ requires us to commit to a programme for at least 2 years we clearly need to have confirmed funding before we can make any new commitments beyond our existing four YA programmes. Therefore, we shall be busy researching foundations and other grant awards this year and preparing lots of documents - if anyone has any relevant contacts, we would love to hear from you, especially Rotary or Government contacts etc.. :-) If anyone knows of a willing Development Studies student looking for an Internship this summer (unpaid unfortunately) we would love to have a chat with them. This position would be desk research in the UK researching potential grants committed to supporting Cambodian based projects. |
Or if anyone is interested in climbing a mountain, running a marathon or baking cakes in the aid of H.O.P.E we'd be delighted to assist (not with the climbing or the running but we can do the eating!) if we can. We hope to have some more fundraisers this year be it a pub quiz in Kent, another Nordic Challenge or the Angkor Bile Ride we shall keep you posted. Please contact us should you wish to get involved, meanwhile don't forget to check the website for the latest news www.hopeforcambodia.org.uk
