HOW KCI BECAME A GLOBAL MEDICAL -TECHNOLOGY LEADER: A View from the Helm

Kathy Burzik, KCI, CEOKCI's dynamic President and CEO, Cathy Burzik, will speak to members and guests at the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association Wednesday, Nov. 10th, at the Oak Hills Country Club. Cathy will speak on the company's evolution from provider of a small line of medical equipment to global technology leader in wound care and regenerative medicine.

She will also discuss the pivotal role women are playing in the future of health care, and offer tips on how today's women business professionals can grow in leadership and influence.

"KCI serves as a source of pride for San Antonio and the state of Texas," says Beth Eby, HBA-SA president and principal at Eby Financial. "KCI's phenomenal growth is compelling on so many levels. The story of its start, in a small apartment, with a single idea, is a classic American entrepreneurial success story.

"And a new chapter is being written since KCI's founder gave the reins to Cathy Burzik, making her the only woman CEO of a publicly-owned company in San Antonio. That's a new kind of success story, and one that aligns so well with HBA."

Kinetic Concepts Inc. isn't just focused on kinetic therapy anymore. Today, the San Antonio-based company is forging new frontiers in medicine. Burzik will explain how KCI is changing the clinical practice of wound healing and advancing the science of regenerative medicine, while remaining committed to KCI's founding vision and values.
