The HC+B NewsletterMay 18, 2010
Dr. TolcherDear HC+B Readers,

So glad to be back online again! My absence was thanks to a computer virus that just about wiped me out. But thanks to the wonderful work of some super IT friends, we are back!

And just in time! Looks like the local chapter of the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association (HBA) is getting ready to put on quite an event where Healthcare Reform will be addressed by some of our most prominent healthcare leaders. You can read more about it in this newsletter and I've also included a link on a story carried by David Hendricks of MySA.com - Panel to Guage Effects of Healthcare

And looks like SATAI was busy while I was out too, they've even changed their name to align with their new mission. Read more down below.

Other happenings include Christus Santa Rosa's Westover Hills new pediatric unit and Medtronic's presentation at the Global Healthcare Conference, just to name a few.

Another special note I'd like to make is to make sure you know that HC+B Magazine has a social presence with Facebook and Twitter. You can get the news (and other news from pages we follow) as soon as I do by following us on Twitter and see the events as they unfold with postings and pictures on Facebook.

Also, the June/July issue is right around the corner with stories featuring some of our city's newest healthcare buildings like local firm O'Connell Robertson's design of a new free-standing infectious disease hospital built in the United States in more than 50 years and Luna Architecture's design of a new state-of-the-art surgery center for dentistry, becoming the first of its kind in the state of Texas, to provide comprehensive dental care to special needs patients and both of these fabulous facilities are being built right here in San Antonio!

These are just two mentions of some of the great work being done by some of our local and national firms in concert with hospital administrators, general contractors, engineering firms, designers and architects. Great issue, you won't want to miss it.

Best regards,
Melba Romero
