Issue: #55

September 15, 2009
Dear S.A. HC+B Friends,

These past few weeks have been quite eventful starting with responses from last weeks newsletter article on the actions taken by local group SA Orthopaedics right up to yesterday's announcement by Modern Physician Magazine naming Dr. Rapier as Physician Entrepreneur of the Year.

In an effort to maintain publication objectivity and neutrality, I try to avoid sharing my own personal opinions on policy but I will always try my best to share the range of opinions of S.A. HC+B readers.

I have included two links below on a couple of letters from local physicians in response to the SA Orthopaedic letter on healthcare reform. I can't print all of the letters or comments received but I will try my best to print a balanced mix (if I get them that way).

On that note, I encourage letters and comments from readers and if you wish to be identified just indicate so in the email/correspondence somewhere and I will oblige.

Be sure to congratulate Dr. Rapier on his fabulous win!

Best,
Melba Romero

Renee Garland's 15 years of being addicted to methamphetamines left her with "meth" mouth - the damage that the drugs do to a person's mouth and teeth. Garland came across the San Antonio Christian Dental Clinic and she says, "They are a blessing to me. Now I can smile and not be self conscious."  Full Story.
