Heart Attack Treatment Teams Celebrate Fast D2B Times With Patients Who Have Been Saved |
Baptist Health System, San Antonio, TX - February 2, 2009
A groundbreaking program, in place since 2005 at each of the Baptist Health System hospitals, is saving precious time in diagnosing and treating patients suffering a heart attack. Baptist Health System was the first system in San Antonio to implement "Heart Alert," a program that in most cases gets heart attack patients into the cath lab for life-saving treatment in under an hour... well under the national standard of 90-minutes. On Feburary 18, the doctors, hospital staff, EMS crews and patients who achieved a "Door to Balloon" (D2B) times of 60 minutes or less in a Baptist Health System hospital will celebrate this success.
