Robert Wood Johnson Grant Awarded To Greater San Antonio Healthcare Foundation To Establish Workforce Management Center
Greater San Antonio Healthcare FoundationGreater San Antonio Healthcare Foundation, San Antonio, TX - October 22, 2008--The Partners Investing in Nursing's Future has awarded a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant to the Greater San Antonio Healthcare Foundation for the creation of the Workforce Management Center.
 
The GSAHF has established a program called STAND, (South Texas Acts for Nursing Development) to address and resolve the projected nursing workforce shortage. A collaboration of government officials, area hospitals, local healthcare foundations and nursing schools have come together to address these issues and work to increase enrollment in local nursing programs. Full Story.

The Texas Cord Blood Bank (TCBB), a publicly and privately funded non-profit program established to create a public supply of umbilical cord blood, announced today that it has begun collecting the life- saving resource from Northeast Baptist Hospital.
