| NEWS FLASH!
To celebrate all the artistic talent and beauty in our community, UPAF is pleased to announce "I ♥ Art" - a program that allows you to capture through photography what you define as art. It can be extraordinary or ordinary; unconventional or conventional; surreal or real. You decide. Share the images via social media in connection with UPAF.
Share your "art" by...
- Facebook: Post photos on UPAF's Facebook page (go to United Performing Arts Fund's page and click "upload a photo")
- Email: Send it to us at art@upaf.org and we'll post it for you.

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer Today
We are already signing volunteers up to help with UPAF's Ride for the Arts. Our first opportunity will begin in March. This year, UPAF's Ride for the Arts will be mailing out packets to all riders (non-team) who register before May 24. Therefore, we will be restructuring the packet fulfillment process. Instead of having two weeks of packet fulfillment, we will need volunteers every other Friday beginning on March 16. Beginning April 13, we will be fulfilling packets every Friday (and maybe adding in a few Thursdays when things get really busy). Packet fulfillment is a great project for individuals, small groups, and families!
For more information on this and other volunteer opportunities, or to sign up visit the volunteer tab at www.upafride.org or contact Kaitlin Kropp at 414-270-4482 or kkropp@upaf.org.

Put Together a Team!
It's Easy
Do you ride with friends, co-workers or family members? Well then, why not put together a team? Creating and managing a team is easy and it's a great way to feel united on the day of the Ride. Team members are not required to choose the same route or ride together, but each rider will have their team logo or name printed on the back of their Ride T-shirt. Meet up for a team photo after the Ride as you relax together on the Summerfest Grounds.
For more information on setting up a team, visit the team tab at www.upafride.org or contact Kaitlin Kropp at 414-270-4482 or kkropp@upaf.org.

SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT

UPAF thanks Alterra Coffee for their awesome generosity over the years.
In their own words, read more about what their Ride sponsorship means to them.
Alterra Coffee has supported UPAF's Ride for the Arts since 2006. Our partnership has grown over the years to include quite a bit of in-store promotion as well as hundreds of cups of free coffee handed out to riders and volunteers on the day of the Ride. Posters, registration brochures, UPAF coffee sleeves, and an Alterra/UPAF T-shirt day are a few of the ways we help spread the word. We also organize an Alterra Coffee team, open to anyone who wants to join!
When we first became involved with UPAF, we were already partnered with several UPAF Members and Affiliates, so our support of the Ride was a natural fit. Alterra has been proud to welcome Florentine Opera, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, and Milwaukee Repertory Theater to perform in our cafes and even hosted a flash mob from Danceworks' Mad Hot Ballroom students at Alterra at the Lake last summer. These performances have allowed us to share world-class talent with our customers while allowing the groups to reach a wider audience.
The benefits of our involvement with the community and the performing arts specifically are immeasurable. The groups involved with UPAF are a significant part of what makes Milwaukee such a terrific city and we welcome opportunities to give back to those organizations. We also make a point of spreading that opportunity to our co-workers - Alterra covers half the ride registration fee for any employee who wants to join our team.
Personally, I've had some fantastic experiences participating in the Ride and serving coffee to riders and volunteers. I've always enjoyed the quiet, early-morning ride to the start line. A couple of years ago, I spent a good chunk of the 15-mile route chatting with Bill Florescu from Florentine Opera, which was great. And of course, crossing the Hoan Bridge was awesome.
