Easy Steps to Properly Fit a Bicycle Helmet
The National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has provided us with a DOT approved document on the proper fit steps and safety knowledge facts of bicycle helmets. It's not enough to simply buy a bicycle helmet, it should be properly fitted, adjusted, and worn each time you ride.
A bicycle helmet can protect your head and brain ONLY if you wear it each time you ride!

Spin or Indoor Trainer?
As with any fitness equipment, the old adage "if the shoe fits, wear it" actually has some practical value. If a piece of equipment meets your training needs, can be adjusted to "fit" your body frame and mechanics, and does not cause pain with use, it may a great choice for you. Spin bikes have simple construction, an upright, metal frame with adjustable handlebars and seat. They operate by adding or reducing resistance to a heavy fly wheel on the front or rear of the bike. Spin bikes can provide a high level workout, do not require much floor space, can be adjusted in numerous ways to fit the rider, and cost around $1000+. A moderate-speed workout for a 150-pound cyclist burns approximately 480 calories/hour.

2012 UPAF's Ride for the Arts, sponsored by Miller Lite
Since 1981, UPAF's Ride for the Arts, sponsored by Miller Lite has been UPAF's annual signature fundraising event to benefit the United Performing Arts Fund and the 36 performing arts groups it supports in Southeast Wisconsin. It is a critical component of UPAF's long term strategy, nurturing new donors, volunteers, and audience members for the performing arts through a fun and entertaining bike event. Last year's Ride raised nearly $550,000 and included nearly 7,000 riders. Since its inception in 1981, 263,000 ride participants, thousands of volunteers and hundreds of sponsors have helped raise $7.3 million for UPAF.
