Shura Council appreciates the strong 400+ attendance with standing room only evening with Dr. Tariq Ramadan last Tuesday which was reported in OC Weekly. In reciprocity, Dr. Ramadan extended his stay in Los Angeles and attended the day-long conference organized by Shura Council on Wednesday at the Loyola Marymount University. Speakers at the conference on Religious Freedom & U.S. Constitution included (in alphabetical order) Dr. Jamal Badawi, Dr. Hatem Bazian, Rabbi Elliot Dorff, Rabbi Reuven Firestone, Dr. Maher Hathout, Dr. Sherman Jackson, Ameena Mirza Qazi Esq., Imam Sayed Mustafa Qazwini, Steve Rohde Esq., Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Dr. Muzammil Siddiqi, Prof. Marcy Strauss and Heather Weaver Esq.
