Greetings!

"And He it is who causes gardens to grow, [both] trellised and untrellised, and palm trees and crops of different [kinds of] food and olives and pomegranates, similar and dissimilar. Eat of [each of] its fruit when it yields and give unto the poor their due on the day of its harvest. And be not excessive. Indeed, God does not like those who commit excess." ~  Holy Qur'an 6:141

Bahrain: Shouting in the dark

"I will die with dignity" says Abdulhadi al-Khawaja a human rights activist on hunger strike for about 60 days, protesting the brutal monarchy of Bahrain, home to the U.S. 5th Fleet. His hunger strike has been a protest of last resort against the disproportionately mighty powers. My father is near death says Zainab AlKhawaja, the daughter of Abdul Hadi Khawaja.

Chronicling the popular uprising for dignity against the
U.S. backed rule in Bahrain is documented in a stunning and award winning documentary, Shouting in the Dark.  Click here to watch the documentary in full and if you feel moved by what you saw in this documentary - call the Ambassador of Bahrain, Ms. Houda Ezra Ebrahim Nonoo at 202-363-3311 and remind her of her obligations toward her faith and for her humanity.

Remember in your prayers all innocent victims, particularly in Bahrain and Syria.

BOSNIA - 20 YEARS AGO

Srebrenica Massacre-part1

Last week, Bosnia commemorated genocide  and honored those who were cleansed for their ethnicity. Bosnian genocide gave birth to the term - ethnic cleansing, just as the recent additions to the war vocabulary - coalition of the willing and collateral damage.

Although more than 100,000 Bosnians were killed but the Srebrenica Massacre continues to haunt the memory of the survivors. The Bosnian survivors say they are reminded of the cries from the grave

Click here to watch a full length documentary by the veteran journalist Robert Fisk on Bosnia in Part-1, Part-2 and Part-3.

Yusuf Islam's musical tribute to Bosnia - "I have no canons that roar" and "they killed the little ones."

The Inescapable Questions by Alija Izetbegovic is a must read for those who seek answers to the questions of the past and the present and courageous enough to raise questions for the future.
