Shura Council announces the opening of a full-time position for a Program and Outreach Coordinator. Interested candidates click here to learn more about the position and how to apply. Applications accepted until July 15, 2011. 

 

The Islamic Society of Corona-Norco (ISCN), a non-profit organization seeks a Religious Affairs Director. Interested candidates should EMAIL or MAIL a cover letter, resume, and at least two professional references no later than Friday, July 15, 2011 to [email protected]. Defend Muslims, Defend America say experts. Republican hopefuls shamelessly compete in demonizing Muslim-Americans. Ask your elected representative to say something when they see something.  

 

Although many cities are cancelling or scaling down Independence Day celebrations, you can catch some Los Angeles July 4th celebrations. Please check your city calendar and get involved with your family or with your Masjid.

SERVING POOR IS SERVICE TO GOD

Its roots are in Islam and its heart is in South Los Angeles, reports the Los Angeles Times in a recent article about UMMA Community Clinic, a member of Shura Council, who celebrated its 15 years of selfless service to Los Angelenos. Shura Council congratulates the leadership, staff, volunteers and supporters of UMMA Community Clinic.  


Shura Council also applauds the fine work of Al Shifa Clinic serving the needy in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. We also encourage graduating Muslims to contact either of them directly for volunteering opportunities.
