While President Obama deserves to be applauded for his first good step to stop torture as a policy, he should now take next step and "investigate the torturers" to hold them accountable. Justice is not piece meal but whole deal. Let us, as people of faith & conscience take action: 1. Endorse the call for an investigation. 2. Support H.R.104 - a bill that calls for an investigation.  Rachel Corrie was killed on March 16, 2003 while defending a Palestinian family and their home from demolition in the city of Rafah in Gaza. On the sixth anniversary of her death, people of faith & conscience recognizes her life and legacy by reaffirming their committed to nonviolent resistance and peace with justice.
Injustice continues. Six years after Rachel's death, Tristan Anderson of Oakland, California, lies in intensive care after an Israeli soldier shooting him in the head from close range with a high-velocity tear gas grenade. Tristan was photographing a demonstration against the Separation Wall in the West Bank village of Ni'lin. |
