DOES GALLUP POLL BOTHER YOU? |
Gallup poll reveals an extensive report on Muslim demographics, family, religion, health & well being, economic conditions & employment, politics & civic engagement and more. While most of the data is intriguing, one is troublesome - i.e. the Muslim youth. It reports that the "Muslim Americans age 18 to 29 in particular reported discontent with their jobs and communities. On average, Muslim American youth were unhappier, angrier and less optimistic than their peers of other religious groups, according to the report. Only 78 percent of young Muslims reported having smiled or laughed the day before, while nearly 90 percent of Protestants, Catholics and Jews of the same age said they had."
if you wish to ask them where did they find the unhappy, angry & less optimistic youth. |
| CASH FOR TRASH |
Prof. Paul Krugman, Nobel Prize-winning economist & professor of economics at Princeton University calls the Treasury's financial plan as "cash for trash" & that "zombie ideas have won." Peter Laarman, Executive Director of Progressives Christian Uniting writes in a Washington Post op-ed that "Why are President Obama and Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner so bloody deferential to the financial gangs of New York, the same Wall Street thugs whose reckless greed drove the invention and build up of the toxic bank assets in the first place? That is the question faith leaders should be asking. After all, the religious community has a whole lot of skin in this game." Another report, "Sold Out: How Wall Street and Washington Betrayed America," exposes the financial sector whose more than $5 billion helped buy political influence in Washington leading to the current financial collapse. Here are some common sense ideas to deal with the economic crisis.
