 Facts are that Naji Hamdan is 42 years old and married with three children - Khaled (16), Hamza (8), and Noor (1). He has been a US citizen for years but is now incarcerated for about 4 months in a United Arab Emirates prison. For three months he was incommunicado. He was tortured through deprivation of sleep and being left in a freezing room. He was routinely beaten in the stomach, on the soles of his cold feet and slapped on until passing out. In a eight page painful narrative he claims, the interrogation and torture had happened in presence of and in complicity with the United States government personnel.
Seeking justice is an obligation and not an option. Naji should be released & his human rights must be respected. Under no circumstances torture could be justified. Should we not remember him and seek his release, he may most likely be forgotten as hundreds of others have.  Holding the hands of almost-made-hopeless, behind barbed wire is a selfless act that neither attract cameras nor draw kudos - it's just you & God - no glamour, no glitter but gratitude and much of it! Shura Council thanks the first group of brothers and sisters who signed up this past weekend to commit themselves to serve, silently as a volunteer prison chaplain.  Shura Council congratulates Islamic Institute of Orange County for organizing a blood donation drive. Over sixty Muslim brothers and sisters of all ages voluntarily donated their blood to help others in need. Blood binds humanity, not merely by color but in fact! We urge all communities to undertake similar meaningful projects of selfless giving and compassionate caring to bring joy for others. |
| BIGOTED BULLHORN |
 Glenn Beck has the bullhorn and he is not shy in his bigotry in the guise of free speech. Who could possibly see Beck's journalistic views in this - "World War III and the impending apocalypse," declaring that "whether you like it or not, this is a religious war. Radical Muslims want to wipe everybody else off the face of the earth."
FAIR calls this grossly unfair and has rightfully placed him as one of the many smearcasters with bullhorns, though different in size but spewing same bigotry. Of course you can help him ... please do not spam but gently blow your e-horn at me@glennbeck.com and let him know "I can't hear you - apologize." |
