Greetings!

As Fall turns to Winter, we are happy to report progress on MBCC's top legislative priority, the Safer Alternatives Bill.  The bill was well received by Environment committee members during it's recent public hearing at the  State House. Supporters of the bill showed up in force and most of the 5 hour public hearing was taken up by testimony from supporters of the bill, including from the MBCC.  We look forward in upcoming months to see the bill move to the next step in the legislative process.

To kick off the holiday season, consider a trip to Southbridge this weekend to visit the Festival of Giving Trees, an exhibit of over a hundred decorated Christmas Trees which you can bid on.  Or simply enjoy the beautiful exhibit with your family.  Proceeds benefit the MBCC, along with Silent Spring Institute, see below for more information.

We wish all of you a joyous season.

Sincerely,

The MBCC Team

Cape Regional Advocacy Councilis concerned with the spraying of herbicides, including chemicals potentially linked to breast cancer, by NSTAR along power lines.  For more information and to get involved with the campaign, CLICK HERE.

Join the Million Baby Crawl for Safer Chemicals!
Babies Crawling

Since 1976, the U.S. EPA has required safety testing on only 200 of the more than 80,000 chemicals on the market.  We need a stronger chemical law to keep our families safe and healthy.  Join the crawl and help us demand change!
