Greetings!

All of us at MBCC hope that you enjoyed a relaxing, joyful and healthy summer.  Many of you joined us at our Against the Tide events in Hopkinton and Brewster - we enjoyed beautiful weather and your time and generosity lead to the success of the events.

As we move into fall, much is happening at MBCC.

MBCC has many events open to all of our members over the course of the next few months.  In particular, we are offering the local premiere viewing of a documentary film 'No Family History', exploring environmental links to breast cancer, at the Coolidge Corner Theater in Brookline on October 14th, please see listing below.

Furthermore, we continue our legislative efforts in support of initiatives that have the capacity to make our environment a healthier one for all of us.  We hope the information below catches you up to date with our activities and we invite you to become involved and join us at our upcoming events!

Sincerely,

Deborah Shields and Erin Boles

Advocacy
MBCC has organized Regional Advocacy Councils across the state and will be developing programs in each region over the upcoming year.  Currently, activities are underway on Cape Cod, in South Shore, Central, Western MA and Boston.  We hope to begin activities in MetroWest, South Coast and Northshore in upcoming months.

It is our hope to use these councils as an avenue for advocacy actions, for educating your community about environmental risks to health and to assist with environmental health campaigns underway in your community.

If you would like to be involved in our Advocacy Councils, please contact Erin Boles at (617) 376-6222 or eboles@mbcc.org.

MBCC continues our work on the Safer Alternatives Bill, in conjunction with the Alliance for a Healthy Tomorrow.  The Coalition still awaits a public hearing on the bill which we hope occurs early this fall.  Stay tuned for more updates on the progress of this legislation.

Furthermore, MBCC has joined national efforts to support three bills relative to toxic chemicals in consumer products.  CLICK HERE to learn more about this effort.
