OUR FEATURED COMMUNITY PARTNER
(For June and July)

Trans NH Bike Ride
Results

At Cross Insurance, our goal is to help support as many non-profit organizations as we can, as we are proud to give back to the community that supports us. Our team of coworkers has decided to participate in "Jeans Day", where we choose  a local "community partner" to assist each month. Employees interested in participating donate a dollar on Fridays if they choose to  wear  jeans, and then a new  community recipient is then chosen for the following month.

Our most recent featured community  partner for the months of June and July is the Muscular Dystrophy Association  that is committed to fostering and promoting the alleviation of the conditions of persons with muscular dystrophy and other related neuromuscular disorders. To assist in these efforts, we were very proud to support Brian Wade of Wade Landscaping in his efforts to raise money for MDA through his participation in the Trans NH Bike Ride   that took place on June 22nd through  24th!  The amazing, successful event raised $202,000 and fundraising will be held  open until July 31st

To let us know about  your own recommendation for a very deserving community program, simply email Diane Gorman or call us today at (603) 742-2552.

Happy Independence Day!

With July 4th celebrations right around the corner, it's not only a time consider our political freedoms, but is a time to examine your financial freedom as well. Most of us are aware of the actions that make up the foundation of a sound financial strategy -- Earning more than you spend, borrowing as little as possible and saving for the future.

At Cross Insurance, it is our job to assist you in making smart, independent financial decisions that will help you both save money and protect yourself, your family and your business at the same time. For this reason, we put together this handy questionnaire for you:  15 Possible Discounts: Are You Missing Any? Your needs can change throughout the year, and we want to make sure that you are both saving money on your insurance, while protecting what's most important to you. I encourage you to take a hard look at where you are at financially, and help us assist you in getting to where you'd like to be by viewing the 15 Possible Discounts  checklist to identify the areas where you can save money.

Continuing along this line of financial freedom, be a SMART consumer by taking a look at this month's valuable feature articles that include Varying Healthcare Costs, Saving for Retirement, Insurance for Faulty Work, Insurance-Ready Smart Phone Resources, and more.

Very best regards,
Chris

MAKING YOUR SMART PHONE

"INSURANCE SMART"

You have the phone and the capabilities that come with it. Pam Hagen, our Personal New Business Account Manager, would like you to know that using the phone to manage all of your insurance affairs is not only smart, it will put you ahead of the game if you need to access your insurance information or if you end up having a claim. There is no better place than on your smart phone to store all the information and tools because it is likely with you at all times. The best news is, the resources are there and putting them in place is a snap. Read about all of the insurance-ready resources that are available! (Please scroll down.)

Be sure to call or email Pam or any of our Personal Account Managers today, to answer any of your personal protection needs.

INSURANCE MAY NOT COVER
FAULTY WORK!

When accidents happen on construction sites, the result usually involves property damage. Faulty wires cause fires, which burn the walls. Collisions often put dents in expensive equipment, and paint can be inadvertently sprayed onto nearby cars. Vicki Turner, our Commercial Account Manager, would like you to be aware that when such incidents occur, the contractor must look to their General Liability policy to compensate for damages. Although the CGL policy covers several types of incidents, not every situation is covered. In order for a situation to be covered, three requirements must be met. (Please scroll down)

To answer any of your questions regarding what incidents are covered in a CGL policy, please call or email Vicki  or any of our other Cross Commercial Account Managers today!

HEAR WHAT OTHERS HAVE SAID

ABOUT US THIS MONTH!

At Cross Insurance, we don't merely promise that we'll be there for all of your personal and commercial protection needs. Our pledge is to be consistent in  every area of service, including that of building  relationships with you that are based on trust, as two of our valued clients  have shared below:

Re: Diane Boyle, Personal Lines
"I've never had an insurance company notice that my premium had increased significantly, shop around my policy, and get my premium cut in half...all without me picking up the phone. Diane took it upon herself to lower my premium. I couldn't have been happier when she called, and impressed that she took the initiative to help me. Thank you!" D.S., Lancaster, NH.

Re: Deb Gifford, Commercial Lines
"Deb,
the Berkley quote is just fine. Go ahead with the paperwork! Thank you for the time that you put into this. Great work!" ~Dr. Jeffrey Allan

And, because yours is the only opinion that matters, we also would like to pass along and share your words with others...so they know what to expect from us too! Our goal is that you are 110% satisfied with your experience with our agency. If our client care, pricing or claim service has been satisfactory to you, we would like to share this mutual benefit with any potential or existing clients. Please take a minute to jot down some thoughts on our  Testimonial Request Form on how our agency has helped you, saved you money or made your life a little better at any time.  This will also improve our service to  you, our valued client, in the future.

And, as a way of saying thanks for "helping us help you,
we will enter you two times in our $100 Restaurant Drawing when we receive your testimonial. Thank you!

                  WAVE YOUR FLAG CAKE
   Just in Time For
Your 4th of July Celebration!

At Cross Insurance, one of the things we really enjoy is to share some of our favorite healthy recipes with each other. As  many of us are always thinking about eating healthier, we thought to share this delicious Wave Your Flag Cake, compliments of Sheila Foss. If a semi-sweet dessert treat makes your mouth water, and you might want to share it with others this 4th, be sure to check out the recipe here!

And...as we love to cook and we love to eat, we would also love it if you would pass on any of your special recipes that we could share with our readers.  Simply email Becky Masse with your recipe, and if you want, tell us where it came from. And, feel free to include your picture if you would like, although not necessary.

ON THE HOME STRETCH
TO YOUR RETIREMENT

By Eleanor Laise, Associate Editor,
Kiplinger's Retirement Report

Workers who are approaching
retirement are focused on the finish line. They anticipate sleeping late, taking exotic trips or spending more time with family. But as they sprint toward those goals, many overlook a formidable obstacle: a yawning gap in their savings.

With the demise of defined-benefit pension plans, tumultuous markets, skyrocketing health care costs and a bleak employment landscape, the last few legs of the race to retirement have become much tougher than they used to be. Many people are running out of steam as they hit the home stretch. Nearly half of people age 57 to 63 in 2010 won't have enough retirement income to cover basic expenses, according to the Employee Benefit Research Institute.
