Keep the Steps in the Castro:
a Progress Report

Over two months have passed since we kicked off Keep the Steps in the Castro, the Castro Country Club's fundraising campaign to buy our home of 27 years.

To date, the campaign has raised over $30,000 in small donations. Combined with our existing fund, we now have a total of about $70,000!

So we are making progress, but we have a ways to go. The building went on the market on June 15, and the trust that is selling the property has decided to lower the asking price by $200 thousand, to $1.495M. Still, we need much more than $70,000 before we can make an offer on the building, and we are always on the lookout for major donors who can help us reach our goal.

In the meantime, we will push on with our grassroots fundraising efforts to ensure the survival of the Castro Country Club, whether it is in the existing building or a new home in the neighborhood. We have lots of exciting events scheduled in the coming months. Below is a partial listing of fundraisers in the month of July.
