Overnight Street Ride April 17 & 18th |
Join us on Saturday the 17th as Craig Leonard will be leading our monthly street ride. This is an overnight trip with an evening in Visalia. April Flowers
If you have been out riding, I hope you have seen some of the wonderful California wild flowers beginning to blossom. It is an amazing site coming down the north side of the grapevine and seeing all the flowers in bloom. Spring is one of the best riding times of the year, so all of us at BMW Motorcycles of Ventura County hope you are out enjoying the spring.
March was a crazy month, and our Spring Open House was a great success. We had a big turn out and a lot of support from our vendors who were on site with plenty of new merchandise, some of which is highlighted in our newsletter this month. Be sure to stop in this month and see some of the latest gear from Olympia, Scorpion, Technik, and the latest BMW Rallye 3 suit.
Many people will now turn their attention to what some have called America's National Pastime, Major League Baseball's Opening Day. No other game during the regular season is as anticipated as this one. The day in which every fan has their highest hopes for their team. It was on opening day in 1974, when Hammerin' Hank Aaron ignited the crowd on his first swing of the season against the perennial home opening team, the Cincinnati Reds and tied Babe Ruth on the all time home run list. If you have never been to an opening day, it is certainly one of those "bucket list" things to do, because it is not just an event, but an experience. For many, this writer included, Opening Day is the true first day of Spring.
Beyond Opening Day, we have a few things happening this month at BMW Motorcycles of Ventura County. On April 10th, we have our monthly Adventure Series Ride leaving from the shop around 7:30 am. Then we have two, yes two, overnight rides in April on the same day. First, we have our Gear Up & Getaway, postponed from February, now heading out from the shop on April 17th. Then we have our street ride group, meeting at Crazy Otto's Diner in Acton for breakfast, and then heading north towards Visalia and a great two day ride along the Southern Sierra's. Both events are on our calendar with sign up's available. Finally, on April 22nd we have another tech session, so mark your calendar and join Howard that evening.

 This year the RawHyde's Adventure Rider Challenge is going to have a special component, the chance to represent BMW's "Team USA" at the 2010 GS Trophy Challenge to be held in South Africa later this year. This is an exciting event and a unique opportunity to not only have some fun, but to earn a spot to compete in a world wide challenge! The GS Trophy event is held every two years, and in 2008, the event took place in Tunisa, and in 2010, the team will travel to South Africa. Do you have what it takes to make the team?
