Tech Session - January 21st
Howard
Join us on Thursday, January 21st at 5:00 PM for a Tech Session conducted by our Senior Master Mechanic, Howard Rantz.  Howard will be focusing on the newer K1200 and K1300 bikes covering routine maintanence and service for these bikes.   You can sign up on our website by going to the Calendar or just click on the link below.  Seating is limited so sign up early.  For additional information, check out our Calendar.
Extended Warranty
Ext Warranty
Extended warranties offer a great way to achieve peace of mind and increase the value of your motorcycle because you can transfer the coverage to a new buyer.  Extend your coverage for 1 to 3 years at any time prior to the expiration of your factory coverage, just so long as you have at least one month remaining.  Stop in and talk to George or Jules for further information.

We also offer wheel and tire protection on all new motorcycles at the time of purchase.  This is a great product that could easily pay for itself by hitting just one of those ugly pot holes you see these days on the road.  Again, get all the information from George or Jules.

Motor Officer Training
Do you want to learn how to ride like those officers you see on those nice white RT's?  Here is your chance.  Jim Hyde, from the BMW Training Center (RawHyde Adventures) is going to conduct their first class of 2010 which mirrors the training that the LA Police Department provides to their motor officers.  Taught by Tim Rolsen, Senior Trainer at the LA Police Department Motor School, you too can learn to ride like an officer.  To find out more about this exciting new class, contact RawHyde at 213 713-5652 for further information.

Greetings!

New Year 2010Happy New Year!

As Yogi Berra so wisely observed, "It's tough to make predictions, especially about the future."   However, I believe that 2010 is going to be an exciting year for BMW and for BMW Motorcycles of Ventura County.   New models coming from BMW and updates to existing favorites.  But first, we have to clear some room and move out the remaining 2009 models we have in stock.  We have just a very few 2009 models remaining, including 1 LT, 2 GS, 1 GS Adventure, 2 RT's 1 F800 GS, a couple of 650's, and one R1200 R.  All have either excellent financing or excellent pricing to move the models out as the 2010's begin to be received at the dealership.
  • The S1000 RR is coming!  We should have our first bike in the dealership by the end of January.
  • Financing as low as 1.9% on any remaining 2009 BMW R1200 GS or GS Adventure or $2,000 customer cash!
  • We have a screaming deal on a 2009 R1200 R, stop by and check it out.
  • On all remaining 2009 RT's and 2009 K1200 LT's, financing as low as 3.9% or $1,000 in customer cash.

As always, financing is subject to buyer qualification and approval by BMW Financial Services.

Well, the bowl season is almost done, with the BCS Championship bowl being played on Thursday evening.  Unfortunately, the Ducks did not do well in the Rose Bowl, but a few of our staff were quite pleased with the Ohio State win.  Tough to compete against a team who plays in a stadium which seats over 100,000 fans.  Speaking of the ducks, are you aware that the University of Oregon is the only school who has a mascot designed by Walt Disney?

2010 looks like it will be a great riding year, so get out on those bikes.  We have an Adventure series ride going out from the shop on the 9th.  We also have a tech workshop schedule for the evening of the 21st, so if you are so inclined, be sure to sign up.

Finally, if you're not sure who Yogi Berra is, he is the same person who also said "If you come to a fork in the road, take it."  I believe he rode motorcycles.  Still not sure who he is, then Google is your friend.

Howard
Meet Howard Rantz, our most senior BMW Master Certified Technician.  Howard is a second generation mechanic and has been with our shop since we opened.  Besides working on BMW's for eight years, and achieving the highest certification available, Howard is also certified with Honda, Yamaha and Harley Davidson.

Howard is a resident of Camarillo where he lives with his wife and daughter.  Besides working on BMW's, Howard has been racing motorcycles since he was 15.  Not only has he raced, he has built his own motorcycles.  He has raced multiple disciplines, and has three championship titles to his credit.

The things that customers like about Howard is his methodical approach to solving problems.  While there is certainly plenty of routine to be found in servicing motorcycles, it can be those pesky issues that come up from time to time that can challenge any technician.  Recently a customer came to our dealership who had less than a satisfying experience with another mechanic.  His 2005 R was experiencing very poor running conditions.  After cycling through several tanks of gas under poor conditions to get rid of the "bad fuel" the previous mechanic advised was the issue, he came to BMWVC and had Howard help with his problem.  After a road test, the issue resolved in 30 minutes and the customer was back on the road.  Turned out to be a defective primary pencil coil that Howard had seen in the past.  Howard loves to take on those challenges and satisfy our customers.

Thanks Howard for being part of the BMWVC family and helping our customers enjoy their motorcycling experiences.

S 1000 RR Press Premier

S1000 Race
The international press launch of the S 1000 RR was held in Portimao, Portugal on the week of November 16th, and almost instantly the Internet began buzzing with praise for the "RR."   The verdict from the press launch is extremely positive, with journalists agreeing that the BMW "RR" not only makes the most power in the literclass category, but enhances the controllability and safety to such a degree that not a single accident occurred during the first week of the press event. You can read more about this new bike here:  S 1000 RR Review

The bike appears to be set for an exciting launch here in the US.  Dealers across the country already have over 550 pre-orders for the new S 1000 RR.  Check out the video on this amazinig motorcycle on our Website.   Make sure you see our Sales Team for additional information.
