Also included this month is a customer profile. This is an easy way to introduce you to some of our customers from time to time. As we enter this holiday season, I realized the other night that we were into November, and still playing baseball. I did a little research and found that the very first year that major league baseball expanded to 162 games in a season was 1962. That year, the Yankees played the SF Giants in the World Series, with game 7 being played on October 16th, nearly two weeks before Game 1 started this year! Unfortunately, the Giants lost a heartbreaker in game 7 to the Yankees 1-0. Willie McCovey hit a sharp line drive which was caught by the leaping Yankee second baseman Bobby Richardson for the 3rd out in the bottom of the ninth, leaving Willie Mays stranded on third.

Customer Profile - Tony Slupko
254,000 miles and counting
Meet Tony Slupko, BMW Rider and customer of BMW Motorcycles of Ventura County. Tony was our very first customer, bringing in his motorcycle for service the day before we officially opened.
Tony began his riding on a CB750 Honda which took him on his favorite ride from California north through western Canada, down through Montana, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Arizona and then home to Southern California. It was 15 years after Tony began riding before Reg Pridmore talked Tony into his first BMW, a K75S purchased in 1987. Since 1987, Tony has owned 15 BMW Motorcycles, splitting his time between the "R" bikes and the "K" bikes, with the R bikes winning out about 70% of the time.
Tony, an Electronic Engineer by trade, recently retired but still works part-time as a consultant under contract to the US Navy. His interests beyond motorcycling include ham radio. Tony got his interest early, and became licensed at age 11. Today, Tony can be found under call sign KN6ELQ, and operates almost exclusively with Morse code.
You can find Tony most Saturday mornings at the shop. So feel free to drop by and chat with Tony, he is a wealth of knowledge and information about BMW Motorcycles and is more than willing to share his experiences with other BMW riders. Thanks Tony for being a customer of BMWVC.
