Despite the approaching Fall, October is going to be a hot month for riding activities! Every single weekend from Sept 27th  through to Nov 1st is earmarked with something to do, and we invite you to participate.
Please be sure to read the special offers associated with our Oct 3-5 RawHyde training weekend, the activities planned for our Oct 11-12 Open House event, and the fun ride planned for our Oct 25 BMW/PBTF Charity Ride.
Dual-Sport Special Training Event - Oct 3,4,5,6
Gravel_road
During the Great Divide Ride in June, everyone agreed that as complete as the RawHyde Offroad training is, the one thing that should be taught is how to ride wide-open gravel roads at speed.

With this in mind, Jim Hyde has arranged a special High-Speed Clinic to be held on the same weekend as our BMWVC/RawHyde Adventure Camp, which will be available either separately as a 1-day clinic, Sunday breakfast lunch and dinner included, or included at no extra charge for those participants of the Intermediate / Advanced training course.

One of the requirements for RawHyde training is to have off-road tires on your GS. Since we're pushing to have as many of our riders attending this camp, we are going to make an exceptional offer: sign up for either the novice or intermediate BMWVC/RawHyde Training Class, and we will offer you a set of fresh rubber, installed, for just $200. That's below cost on the tires and we're including the labor to remove, mount & balance, and reinstall, a saving of $225!

So - to summarize:
- rendezvous at the shop for a group ride out to RawHyde - departure Friday 3rd Oct @ 4pm;
- attend either Novice or Intermediate Training ($1,195 only with BMWVC) - Sat/Sun/Mon 4-6 Oct;
- (special tire offer applies to the above; high-speed clinic included in Intermediate Class)
- or: attend High Speed Clinic ($395) on Sunday 5th October, breakfast, lunch, dinner included.

Open House - 2 Days Oct 11 & 12, 8am-5pm
The BMW Motorrad Demo Truck will be with us for both days of the Open House, conducting demo rides on all the new BMW models. Sign up for a demo ride is done on the morning of the rides, so be there early - coffee and pastries will be available to wake you up!Demo Truck 1

Also present at the Open House will be several vendors - apparel experts from Rev'It & Tourmaster, a helmet sizing clinic with Shoei, and custom earplug speaker fitting with Ted Greene from Big Ear. There will also be a special rack of apparel & accessories marked at extremely favorable prices, prices that will only be available on these two days!

After successfully satisfying hundreds of our Spring Open House patrons, RawHyde Adventures will once again be on hand with their camp & rally support crew, providing plentiful hot food and cold refreshments on both days.

Many of our BMW riders either still currently own or have had previous experience with other brands of motorcycle, and as such, are often a wealth of unbiased information.Hand Pointing
We would like you to extend an invitation to this event to any non-BMW rider you know, not only to participate in the demo rides, but to also converse and share impressions with real BMW riders (not sales staff) who will be available for discussion in our Rider Hospitality Tent

3rd Annual PBTF Charity Ride - Oct 25
Geocache 1
In support of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation this well-attended annual ride will have a new GeoCache format this year! We will place several geocaches in secret locations all around the Malibu mountains, that you must find with your bike and GPS (or a GPS-enabled buddy!), and in each of these caches will be vouchers to awesome prizes which you may win back at the dealership.

Riders from other BMW dealerships will also be welcomed during the day, as they "collect" dealers on their own rides. We'll end the day with a late-afternoon BBQ and prize-giving. Join us and the PBTF volunteers in support of this noble cause, and have a fun day while doing so!
For your Calendar...
Thank you for taking the time to read this fairly long Newsletter! We hope that there is a ride or event that you'll be able to make, and we certainly look forward to buying you a cup of our famous coffee at the shop sometime soon!

Sincerely,

Pete MacLachlan
