Vapor Emporium & Gift Shop

Meet the newest member of SDA, the Vapor Emporium and Gift Shop located

next to Bob's Car Wash on East Main Street. The Vapor Emporium offers a variety of

products and is a distributor for Green Smoke Electronic Cigarettes!

Bruce and Meg Stroupe opened this shop because Bruce was able to become tobacco free with the aid of E-Cigarettes and they believe this product can help others as well.

Bruce acts as a consultant on how to withdraw from tobacco.

E-cigarettes have "green smoke" consisting of vapor and nicotine - no tobacco.

They consist of a battery and Cartomizer to give the user the full flavored satisfaction that  a real cigarette does but without using tobacco and can be used almost anywhere that  tobacco is banned because the vapor will not harm them or others as cigarette smoke does.

Those that would like to try an E-Cigarette can come in and sample the 7 flavors and 5 levels  of nicotine to see what works best for them with no obligation.

They offer a variety of kits, carrying cases, chargers, etc.

Bruce is also a distributor for Herbalife - a nutritional supplement forweight loss,

body building and general health. These products are sold in the store.

Another product offered is Bytox - a patch one can buy to prevent a hangover!

This is a one-time use patch one can put on prior to drinking alcohol that replenishes

the vital levels of vitamins and acids lost when consuming alcohol.

Along with these products, hand made gift items and art are also sold at Vapor Emporium and Gift Shop. Various local artists sell their work on consignment here and Meg and their daughters sell their own creations including photography, notecards, jewelry, monogrammed insulated tumblers and "Redneck Wine Glasses."

There is a lot to see and learn when visiting Vapor Emporium and Gift Shop. Stop in and meet Bruce and his family soon and welcome them to SDA!

This year's event will benefit Mobile Meals of Spartanburg. Families may enjoy free entertainment at Strawberry Hill U.S.A. located in Cooley Springs, South Carolina, on June 16th, 6-9:00 p.m.

We welcome all ages to come dance to your favorite classic rock, beach and blues tunes with Rock and Roll Reunion featuring WSPA news anchor Tom Crabtree.

Strawberry Hill, owned by James Cooley, an avid community supporter, will sell hot dogs and soft drinks throughout the event. No coolers or pets are permitted at this event. Guests should bring lawn chairs or blankets for the outdoor event.

Door prize drawings for thousands of dollars worth of items will take place throughout the evening for guests who donate as little as $1 to Mobile Meals. Tickets currently are available at Mobile Meals and will be available at the event. Last year the Stroller Summer Jam raised almost $25,000 for another local nonprofit organization.

Mobile Meals of Spartanburg is a 501(c)(3) organization that delivers approximately 1,800 meals, five days a week, to the homebound of Spartanburg County and in addition provides the services of home-visiting nurses and a chaplain. Hospice Care NEW Logo

Dr. Kevin Paul McRedmond and the University of South Carolina School

of Medicine Specialty Clinics-Pediatrics, has partnered with Hospice Care of South Carolina to serve as Pediatric Medical Director for the Hands of Hope division.

Dr. McRedmond's role is to provide the physician component of Pediatric Palliative and Hospice expertise and support the interdisciplinary pediatric team across South Carolina. Hands of Hope was developed  by Hospice Care of South Carolina after partnering with Children's' Hospitals across the state to meet the specialized needs of children from newborns to age 21 living with a life limiting, terminal illness .

Caring for a child with a life limiting illness is challenging and far more than technical.  It demands complete understanding of the whole child and family; it requires recognition of the child's developmental, psychological, physical, spiritual and emotional needs. This requires a team of interdisciplinary pediatric experts from nursing, social work, certified child life specialists, chaplaincy and bereavement support and a physician. Care is individual to the patient and is family centered. The mission is Working Together to Enrich the Lives of Children and Families.

Dr. McRedmond supports this mission with his passion for pediatric care. He has over twenty years of pediatric experience and is boarded by the American Board of Pediatrics in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology and General Pediatrics.  Dr. McRedmond's knowledge and expertise is welcomed by the Hands of Hope staff which is comprised of team members from all disciplines that are specifically trained in hospice/palliative care, and child development and family systems.

Dr. McRedmond graduated from Providence College and from Brown University Program in Medicine in 1985.   He completed his residency and fellowship at Rhode Island Hospital and Brown University in 1988.  Dr. McRedmond is currently the Associate Professor of Pediatrics USC School of Medicine, Division of Pediatric Hematology - Oncology and the Medical Director of the Pediatric Palliative Care Program at Palmetto Health Children's Hospital.

Dr. McRedmond joins Dr. George Haddad, Senior Medical Director for Outpatient Pediatrics at Children's Hospital of Greenville Hospital System who serves in the capacity of an Administrative Medical Director.  Although some hospices offer hospice services to children with terminal illnesses, Hands of Hope is the only hospice provider that provides dedicated, specialized pediatric comfort care in all forty six counties in South Carolina.  If you or someone you know may benefit from the services provided by Hands of Hope, please email handsofhope@hospicecare.net or call 1-800-932-2738.
