Hi all, a quick email to let you know that we have a new departure to Upper Mustang (Nepal) in September 2008. This trip has replaced our Kangshung face trek in Tibet because with the recent events the Chinese are not allowing any tourists into the country!
The Upper Mustang Forbidden Kingdom trek will be led by Alan Ward. Alan is a very experienced trek leader, in 2006 he was one of 11 worldwide finalists in the Wanderlust Top Guide Awards competition following recommendations from clients. For more information on his background and experience ----> please click here
Upper Mustang is located north of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri and at an average of 4000m is geographically and culturally part of the Tibetan plateau. The valleys are dry and arid with colourful rock formations often containing many thousands of cave dwellings high up in the cliffs.
The dates are September 3rd to 20th 2008 and cost ex Kathmandu is £1,995 (including internal flights and USD$700 special permit).
If you are interested in joining the group then please get in touch over the next few weeks.
I am in Kathmandu at the moment and loking forward to trekking the Manaslu Circuit with a group from April 5th, there is still availability on this trip so if anyone is interested please let me know.
Kind regards,
Roland Hunter
