Recently I spoke to the graduates of the E-City Business Plan Challenge. Sophomores in high school, their futures seem bright as they completed their work creating business plans. I politely reminded these young adults that their success that day was just one step along a challenging and rewarding path toward becoming successful entrepreneurs like our Presidents' Council members.

Last month Greater Cleveland experienced two significant losses with the passing of Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones and Councilwoman Fannie M. Lewis. "The Congresswoman" and "Ms. Lewis," as many referred to them respectfully and affectionately, were pioneers who dedicated their lives to serving, building, and improving our community.

In high school, Darrell McNair grabbed his buddies from his south side suburb of Chicago and approached a local developer about his crew fulfilling the landscaping needs for a housing development. Darrell made some money, helped beautify his community, and bought some much needed candy - an important investment for a teenager.

Regionalism. This word is bandied about throughout the Greater Cleveland region like the name Lebron James. At least with Lebron, you can actually see him play and know what he means to the region. Regionalism is much more abstract and until last year, no one had yet defined it and provided an understanding about its meaning and impact.
