| Annual Member Meeting Rolls Out New Sedona Brand
On Friday, January 20, Sedona Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Member Meeting at Los Abrigados Resort & Spa. The meeting featured reports on the Chamber's activities during the past year, our plans for 2012, reports from the Affinity Groups, the awarding of the Customer Service Excellence Award to Heartline Cafe', the roll-out of our new My Sedona brand campaign, and a presentation by Mr. Jim Rounds of Elliot D. Pollack & Company in Scottsdale that offered an thorough and positive economic forecast. With attendance at more than 120 Chamber members and officials, the meeting we a great way to end one year and begin the next.
Special thanks must go to Arizona Public Service who served at the Meeting's Sponsor, as well as to Los Abrigados, Shondra Jepperson, Steve DeVol, and Red Rock TV for their support and assistance in producing the program.

February 2012 Mixer Date Still Available
Throughout the year, Sedona Chamber of Commerce works with local businesses to present a Monthly Networking Mixer on the fourth Thursday of the month. There has been a real demand to host 2012 Mixers and now there is only one date still available - February 23.
Hosting is a great opportunity to showcase your business, services and staff when Chamber members visit your location and network to grow your business and theirs. Loft 54 Interiors owners Roxanne and Tricia Roud recently hosted a Mixer and offered their thoughts about how valuable being a host was for their business:
"We just wanted to take a moment to thank you and your staff for a wonderful evening. We feel as though the event went without a flaw, and our business got just the exposure it needed. We had great response and feedback from the members, and they were all so kind and respectful to our store. We would definitely host another mixer, no questions asked!"

Make sure your business is top-of-mind with Valley residents at the Arizona Highways/AAA Travel Show. The show is scheduled for February 18 and 19, 2012. This year's show will be bigger and better, as two individual travel shows - Arizona Highways Travel Show, and the AAA Travel Show - have now partnered to create the biggest and best travel show of 2012.

VisitSedona.com Upgrades Online Booking Engine
Are you interested in selling your rooms directly from the VisitSedona.com website? It is very easy and requires little management - even if you do not participate in any other online or GDS based programs. This new booking engine can be utilized by all Sedona area hotels, motels, resorts, inns and B&Bs who are Tourism Bureau Members! Here are some commonly asked questions:
Can I access the system through the Internet?
Yes, the system is a user friendly, web-based program that is easy to manage and is a powerful merchandising tool.
Will we need to purchase special software?
No, your current Internet browser will allow you access to the system.
Is there a minimum commitment time period?
No, there is no minimum commitment. The Flexible Net Rate Agreement terms are for one (1) year with a thirty-day notification of termination.

New Phoenix Airline Routes for 2012
Several airlines are adding additional Phoenix flights in early 2012. Southwest will add an Atlanta-Phoenix flight starting March 10, and US Airways will add a Phoenix-New York/LaGuardia flight starting the same day. In addition, Spirit will add three flights from Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport going to Las Vegas starting Feb. 9, and Dallas and Fort Lauderdale starting March 22. (USAToday.com, Jan. 12) |
