Customer Service Award Nominations Sought
|  Sedona Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for its 6th Annual Customer Service Award. If you know of a business in Sedona that provides outstanding customer service, please nominate them today! Deadline for nominations is Monday, January 9, 2012. Once nominations are received, the Chamber of Commerce will compile all of them and send an electronic ballot to our members. The winner of the 6th Annual Chamber of Commerce Customer Service Award will be announced at the Annual Membership Meeting on Friday, January 20, 2012 at 8:30 am in the Los Abrigados Resort & Spa banquet room and they will receive a recognition plaque. | Time to Update Your Listing! |  This is the time of year when we roll out New Year's Resolutions. Many we don't keep, but here is one you can keep very easily and your business will benefit from it. Look at your listings on SedonaChamber.com and VisitSedona.com, the Kiosk at the Visitor Center and any Deals and Discounts, or ShopInSedona.com listings to be sure your descriptions, photos, and offers are up to date and accurate. If you need to make a change, or insert a new offer as the current offer is expiring, make the change today. Remember, if its your listing on SedonaChamber or VisitSedona, you will need to email your changes to David Keeber. If you need to change your Deals & Discounts offer on VisitSedona or your Shop Local offer on ShopInSedona, you can use the forms there to make the changes. Sedona Chamber of Commerce will hold its Annual Member Meeting on Friday morning, January 20, 2012 from 8:30 - 10:00 am at Los Abrigados Resort & Spa. The meeting will include a continental style breakfast with beverages, to be followed by presentations by the Chamber's staff, reports from our Affinity groups, and Mr. Jim Rounds of Elliot Pollack & Company as keynote speaker who will provide an economic update and forecast for 2012. | City of Sedona Amends Business License Rules |  The City of Sedona, City Council adopted the following amendments to the Business License Program at their meeting on December 13, 2011. Effective dates of the business license ordinance changes are January 13, 2012. 1. Amendment to section 8-2-2(A): All businesses operating within City limits will be required to obtain and maintain a current business license. For 2011, the Ordinance only required businesses with a TPT liability to apply and maintain a current business license. For 2012, all businesses operating within the City must apply for and maintain a current business license. 2. Amendment to section 8-2-2(D): Creation of a delinquent fee for businesses that fail to obtain a business license. For 2011, there was no delinquency fee for businesses that failed to obtain a business license. For 2012, a penalty of $5.00 per month shall be assessed on all delinquent and/or underpaid licenses. To avoid penalties, the 2012 business license application and full payment must be received on or before February 29, 2012. 3. Amendment to section 8-2-3(B): Creation of a temporary Special Event Business License at a cost of $7 per event per participant. For 2011, there were no Special Event Business Licenses. Based on feedback from the business community, a condensed business license form will be available for special events. The special event business license will be valid for seven consecutive days after the date of issuance. The City of Sedona has partnered with Revenue Discovery Systems (RDS) to assist the City of Sedona in the issuing of its annual business licenses. Business Licenses may be obtained online at www.bizlicenseonline.com. Otherwise, your deal is set to come off the site automatically and you will have to re-submit a new package. Promoting Sedona to Los Angeles & Orange County Residents

The Sedona Chamber of Commerce Tourism Bureau will be at the Los Angeles Travel & Adventure Show January 14 - 15 promoting our beautiful destination! The show attracts over 20,000 Orange County and Los Angeles area residents and travel agents each year. According to our recent visitor survey, a large portion of our visitors come from Southern California, so we want to make sure that Sedona stays top-of-mind with this valuable audience.
We are providing a brochure distribution opportunity to Tourism Bureau members in which we will bring your brochures to the show. The small fee for this brochure distribution is $50 for 100 brochures. Please bring brochures with payment to the Sedona Chamber Administrative Office at 45 Sunset Drive, attention Michelle Conway by Friday, January 6.

| Reach Los Angeles Based Media
The Sedona Chamber of Commerce will be traveling to Los Angeles on Monday, January 24, to meet with LA based media outlets and journalists together with other destination CVB's in the state. You can reach them by including your electronic press release on the Chamber's flash drive press kit. For the low cost of $50, your press release will be included and handed out together with all of the Chamber's information.

KUGO Travel Radio - Grand Canyon Marketing Opportunity

The Sedona Chamber of Commerce has partnered with KUGO radio, the only FM radio station that broadcasts at the Grand Canyon and surrounding areas. This radio station delivers travel information only (no music format) and is a great way to remind Grand Canyon visitors that Sedona has so much to offer!
We have developed a co-op advertising package open to three Tourism Bureau members, where each member gets one minute of a five minute long Sedona segment. This radio campaign will last for six months (January - June) and again for July through December. The cost to participate is only $150 per month. You can participate for six months, or secure your spot and participate for the full 12 months. Note: The production cost is included, so all we need is what you'd like to say.
