Promoting Sedona to Los Angeles & Orange County Residents

The Sedona Chamber of Commerce Tourism Bureau will be at the Los Angeles Travel & Adventure Show January 14 and 15 promoting our beautiful destination!  The show attracts over 20,000 Orange County and Los Angeles area residents and travel agents each year.  According to our recent visitor survey, a large portion of our visitors come from Southern California, so we want to make sure that Sedona stays top-of-mind with this valuable audience.

We would like to extend a unique invitation to share our booth to two Tourism Bureau members for the small investment of $1,100 each.  Please contact Michelle Conway by Thursday, December 22 if you are interested.

Additionally, we are providing a brochure distribution opportunity where we will bring your brochures to the show.  The small fee for this brochure distribution is $50 for 100 brochures. Please bring brochures with payment to the Sedona Chamber Administrative Office at 45 Sunset Drive, attention Michelle Conway, by Friday, January 6.

Contact Michelle for more information at (928) 204-1123 or at mconway@sedonachamber.com.  Thank you!

Marketing Opportunity to Reach Meeting Planners - There is Still Room Left!

The Sedona Chamber of Commerce Tourism Bureau is offering a new program to reach professional meeting planners. The goal is to lure meeting planners who have meetings in the Phoenix metropolitan area into coming to Sedona before or after their convention/meeting for a Sedona "FAM" (familiarization) trip. A special website is under construction and will be marketed through our targeted mailings to planners throughout the USA!

Participating Tourism Bureau Members would be asked to: 1) Submit their brochures to be included in the mailings to the meeting planners. We would need a brochure quantity of approximately 750 total from each participant; and, 2) Include gift items for the Welcome Bags that will be distributed once the meeting planner arrives in Sedona. Examples of gift items might be a gift certificate, or a promotional item. The quantity and examples of the gift items will be determined at a later date.

This opportunity is open to the first 15 Tourism Bureau Members who respond. The cost to participate is $250 total for this 6-month campaign. That's only $40 per month to market your company to this desirable audience. Please contact Michelle Conway with any questions and to participate at (928) 204-1123 or mconway@sedonachamber.com

Tourism Tidbits...

Hotels Offer Services for Stressed Air Travelers

Hotels are jumping in to ease the stress of air travel for their guests, with optional services such as personal airport concierges and lounges, takeout meals to eat on the plane and clothes available on arrival to avoid overweight-luggage fees. Last year, Westin Hotels & Resorts began lending guests New Balance sneakers and workout apparel to help reduce bulk in carry-on bags. Hotels also are helping travelers dodge overweight luggage fees. The Hampton Inn & Suites Wesley Chapel in Florida installed a luggage weight scale in the lobby after overhearing guests vent about getting hit with charges. The hotel also keeps a variety of postal boxes for guests to ship items home if it will keep costs down. Many hotels now offer meals to go as well. The Four Seasons Seattle introduced a Flight Bites menu last year, with meals like pasta salad with grilled eggplant and tomatoes, cured meats, pickles and cookies served in compostable containers, for $30. And Hilton's Hampton Inn chain offers free On the Run Breakfast Bags packed with water, fruit, a muffin and a cereal bar each morning. (NewYorkTimes.com, Nov. 30)
