Special Event: HSLDA President Mike Smith Speaking in Vancouver
August 28, 2010  | 7:00 p.m.
Life Point Church
Greetings!

2009 Benefit Dinner

Remembering the Reason, Renewing the Vision

You are invited to a special evening
of worship and encouragement!

Come and be encouraged as Mike Smith talks about the challenges, burdens, and benefits of homeschooling from a veteran homeschool father and leader's perspective.  Mike is a talented and encouraging speaker, and this evening will be a blessing to current homeschoolers, veteran homeschoolers and all homeschoolers in between.

You'll be reminded of the benefits of homeschooling and challenged by some practical suggestions for relieving the pressure on the homeschooling family, especially Mom.

"Thank you for confirming the experience of my public education," writes one parent, "and for convicting us even more of our commitment to bettering the lives of our children."

About Mike Smith
Attorney Mike Smith is the President of Home School Legal Defense Association, an organization that he helped found in 1983. Established to protect the right of parents to teach their children at home, HSLDA now represents over 80,000 member families. Mike and his wife Elizabeth began homeschooling their children in 1981. He has been defending families for 24 years.

Mike has been speaking to homeschool audiences for 23 years. His columns on home education appear regularly in the Washington Times, and he has been a guest on numerous television and radio programs, including Focus on the Family with Jim Dobson and Hannity and Colmeson Fox News.

He believes that there is a revival taking place in America through the homeschool movement and that, through the second and third generation of homeschoolers, there is great potential to return America to its moral and religious foundation.

Admission
Admission to this special event, sponsored by First Class Homeschool Ministries and hosted by Life Point Church is FREE.  We hope you'll invite anyone interested in homeschooling.

The Busy Homeschool Mom's Guide to Romance

Heidi St. John

2009 Benefit Dinner

Heidi St. John has just released her first book, "The Busy Homeschool Mom's Guide to Romance"! We're excited to see this project come to completion, as we believe it will encourage homeschooling families to think about their marriages as God sees them-full of hope and promise. A relationship like no other.

Honestly, a successful marriage is absolutely key to successful homeschooling! A happy marriage is the "glue" that will get you through hours of math, grammar and writing lessons, because successful marriages are beautiful partnerships. That "cord of three strands" that Solomon talks about really is God's heart for the marriage relationship.
