 August 2009

Alyse  Greetings!

Welcome to the third issue of our summer series on Healthy, Wealthy, & Wise.  In June you learned about your relationship to food and what may be keeping you from eating well.  In July's Newsletter, the focus was on what it takes to be wealthy, which is feeling clear and free from any self-sabotaging beliefs that would interfere with your moving forward towards your goal.  And in this issue, you will discover the third part of our summer series, " Healthy, Wealthy, & Wise"  when you awaken to the wisdom of how you are the creator of your life.

Are YOU Captain of your own Ship?
Health Tip - Don't B Low in this Vitamin
Are You Captain of your own Ship?

"We are a microcosm of the macrocosm."

          ~ Debbie Ford

Watching my son get ready to make the long drive back to college, from Chicago to Tempe, AZ, these past few days, has provided me the perfect example of the above quote.  What Debbie Ford is saying in that quote is that whatever you do in one area of your life, is merely a reflection of what you are doing in all areas of your life

Even though my 21 year old knew that he was planning to start his three day drive back to school early on Saturday morning, as young people will do he avoided the uncomfortable tasks, for what was fun.  Rather than take care of the large mountains of laundry covering every piece of furniture in his room, or finishing up those last minute bills and errands necessary before leaving for the year, he had no hesitation in putting it off until later.  Leaving it all behind, he chose to go out and enjoy himself and take part in things he saw as easier and more fun.  Of course, at 2:30 AM, the night before he was to leave, I heard him running up and down three flights of stairs as he was still doing unending loads of laundry.  At that moment, I figured that his 7 AM departure goal was going to be a thing of the past.

Yes, these types of choices are very common amongst college students.  And, so is cramming for that big test or staying up all night to finish a huge paper that is due in the morning.  I'm sure many of you can relate to doing these very same things when you were college age.  And, you probably laugh about them now.  But, what if you still do similar things, only now they look different?  If you find yourself rushing around, feeling there is not enough time, or noticing you are often stressed, you are probably making choices that are not taking you in the direction you say you want to go.  Let's take a quick check.

Do you ever find yourself:
  • choosing the easy tasks first?
  • putting off chores you don't like until later, or tomorrow?
  • purposely distracting yourself to avoid facing something?
  • shuffling around that stack of papers on your desk that seems to keep growing?
  • staying up late watching TV ?
  • spending too much time on the computer when you know you must be somewhere soon?
  • eating sweets and telling yourself, "This is the last time?"

If you said "yes" to any of these questions, or if others examples come to mind, then I invite you to look beyond these tasks and ask yourself, "Where else in my life do I display that very same type of behavior?"

  • Am I a procrastinator?
  • Do I avoid?
  • Act lazy?
  • Am I undisciplined?
  • Do I self-sabotage?
  • Do I spend too much time focusing on the small details?
  • How often do I say the words, "I'll do it tomorrow?"
  • Am I a great friend to others, but don't seem to make time for myself?

Creating a life you love, requires a vision, goals, and plan of action. Most of all, it requires that you make choices that are in alignment with your road map.  Do you notice that you are meeting your goals or do they only feel like far off dreams?  Perhaps, because up until now, you have not been aware of how the little choices in your life reflect the larger picture of your life.  Okay . . breathe . .

What I am sharing here, is true wisdom.  Learning about my own choices, has been the most important tool that I have gained from Integrative Coaching in my life.  That is why I so strongly believe in the ability of the Blueprint model of coaching to help you make a powerful shift, as well.  This 13-week Blueprint Coaching process, which is done over the phone, guides you to your own source of Divine inner wisdom, helping you unconceal and understand why you make the choices you do.  It will then take you to a place where you can reclaim your power and the ability to become the captain of your own life. It will support you in the journey towards making new choices.   Stop and think about that for a moment.  How would it feel to no longer be run by choices that don't serve you?  What would it be like to learn how to truly become the captain of your own life?

If that sounds good to you, then you are ready to step up and change the course of your direction. And, with that create a life of greater authenticity and freedom. You may contact me now at emailalyse@aol.com or call me at 847.840.0884 (my phone will be out of order until 8/18/09)  I would be happy to set up a time to speak with you in a short phone consultation and to answer your questions and see if you may be ready to experience a free sample coaching session.  Let's stop using the word "tomorrow"  as an excuse and turn it into a word that describes the power and excitement for the future of your happy and fulfilling life.  It is the WISE person  who knows in which direction they are sailing and how best to stay on course to reach their destination.  Are you ready for that person to be you?  Your choice is now.

Whatever you do, be sure to make the rest of your summer Healthy, Wealthy and Wise.

Don't "B" Low in this Vitamin
This article written by Dr. Mercola, Schaumburg, IL

Vitamin B12  is known as the "energy vitamin," and it is essential for many critical functions in your body, including energy production, supporting your immune system, and helping to regulate the formation of red blood cells.*  Recent studies from the US Framingham trial show that one in four adults in the US are deficient in this vitally important nutrient and nearly half of the population has suboptimal blood levels.
How You Get Vitamin B12 Deficient
The older you get the more likely you are to have a vitamin B12 deficiency.  The two ways that you become deficient in vitamin B12 are from not getting enough in your diet and from losing the ability to absorb it.  The older you get the more your digestive system breaks down, especially if you have been following the standard American diet. Specifically the lining of your stomach gradually loses its ability to produce hydrochloric acid which releases vitamin B 12 from your food. The use of antacids or anti ulcer drugs will also lower your stomach acid secretion and decrease your ability to absorb vitamin B 12.

If you often feel tired, run-down, and lacking in energy, you're not alone.

Low energy is one of our country's biggest health complaints.
Some of the top reasons for this are:
  • Refined foods sold in grocery stores are depleted of vital nutrients...
  • Refined foods are loaded with sugar...
  • Refined foods are full of chemicals...
  • Refined foods are overloaded with food colorings; and...
  • Refined foods are loaded with preservatives...
...but it doesn't stop there, either.
Add the harmful effects of caffeine, pollution, conventional therapies, and the stress most of us experience everyday... and you've got yourself a recipe for energy drain.
Well, I'm here to tell you there's a new way to give yourself extra energy.* Actually, a cutting edge way to feel more energized -- without the jitteriness of caffeine.*

Vitamin B-12 helps folic acid regulate the formation of red blood cells, and helps your body use iron.  It is also needed for proper digestion, food absorption, carbohydrate and fat metabolism.  It also helps keep your nervous system healthy by assisting the nerves of your body to function and communicate in an optimal manner.

B-12 also helps in cell formation and cellular longevity. Plus, it can support female reproductive health, and promote normal nerve growth and development by maintaining the fatty sheaths.  These fatty sheaths play a vital role as they cover and protect your nerve endings. What's more, this workhorse of a micronutrient is critical to your circulation and adrenal hormone production -- plus, it helps boost your immunity.  And, oh yes, let's not forget...
Vitamin B-12 supports a healthy mood and feelings of well-being.  And then there's this -- it also provides excellent support for your memory, mental clarity, and concentration.

Alyse Rynor suggests
you supplement your diet with B12 sublingual tabs each day.  Both Solgar and Twinlabs make these.  You can find them at Whole Foods or your local Health Food store.
