Get a load of this ..... SWFL Roofers Association Luncheon
I had the pleasure of presenting a luncheon program for the SWFL Roofers Association this month. My speech was "Breaking The Crutches" and the 10 points for success are shown above.
Unfortunately, many of us fall into the trap of making excuses instead of making money. Many times we have found lots of crutches to lean on which make it way too easy to become complacent and not put the extra effort into achieving our goals and dreams.
During their business portion of the meeting the Association participants discussed a community program they support and participate in to help less fortunate school children take home a back pack of food for the weekend. Their Association has made a commitment to fill the back packs on Friday afternoon each week. When they asked for volunteers to spend time on Friday for this task, hands went up all over the place. I was "wowed". When I think that perhaps these children may only have this food for the weekend and also have to share it, I am appalled. I know you must be thinking the same thing. This team of roofing professionals are making a difference. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all do just a little something to make a difference for someone less fortunate than us? Just think, that would be amazing. Our Community needs our help.
After the meeting I was reminded that I had a Harry Chapin Food Bank request sitting on my desk. It only took me seconds to write a check for $50 (OK, I know it's not much) but every bit helps. Did you know that $50 in cash buys $300 in food for Harry Chapin Food Bank. I do try to send them regularly. Is it time for you to start thinking what you and your business can do to help support some of the needs within our own Community?
Next month I will be sharing with you my Christmas Program "Stockings 4 Kids". I am planning on a record-breaking number of stockings 4 kids this year.
