And also in March, the center will offer a program designed to help young people successfully negotiate the transition to college, and another that gives teachers tools to help their students with diverse learning styles.

Open House - Sunday, March 11

If you haven't been able to make a weekday Open House, March will offer a weekend opportunity to see first-hand what makes a Springer education unique. An informational session begins at 1:30 p.m. Tours of the building will be available, and several students will be on hand to share their experiences at Springer and answer questions. 

 

Please pass this invitation along to friends and family who could benefit from a Springer education.

Student's Artwork Chosen for State Exhibit

The artwork of Primary student CeCe Jones was chosen to be displayed during the 32nd annual Young People's Art Exhibition held at the Rhodes State Office Tower in Columbus. The exhibition is sponsored by the Ohio Art Education Association. Exhibitors are invited to attend a recognition ceremony on March 10.

A Celebration of
Seussical Proportions!
Plans are underway for A Springer Celebration! 2012, Springer's premier fundraising event. This year's Chair for the event is Nancy Cooper, wife of Board of Trustees President Randy Cooper.

"The loving, knowledgeable, and endlessly patient support of the Springer staff and administration cannot be overstated," says Nancy.  "Randy and I believe Springer School and Center is a jewel in our Queen City's crown, and I look forward to helping with A Springer Celebration! so that more families can benefit from the Springer experience as we did."

Tips for College-Bound Students  

Students who are planning to attend college will have a chance to talk with former Springer students who have been there. 

 

Springer alums and college graduates Matthew Selker and Devon Rich will be available for a March 14 discussion moderated by Dr. Mary Ann Mulcahey, Center Program Coordinator. Devon and Matt will share their personal trials and triumphs, and offer advice on how students can prepare themselves for success at the college level.  

 

This program is intended for students in grade 8 through high school and their parents/guardians.

Intermediate student Alex Christensen was chosen as an exhibitor in this year's Youth Art Month Exhibition, sponsored by the Ohio Art Education Association. Alex's work will be on display at the State Teacher's Retirement Systems building in Columbus during the month of March. He has been invited to attend a March 10 recognition ceremony.    

Springer Appreciates Our Students

February 14 is a special day at Springer. It is a day set aside each year to let our students know how much they are appreciated.  

 

Springer administrators decorated the cafeteria in pink and red, and treated the students to ice cream sundaes on Student Appreciation Day!
