Greetings!

Soon students will be singing the old familiar song...school's out for summer!  The end of the year seems a good time to reflect on the hard work done all year long by Springer students.  The challenges they overcome on a daily basis to pursue their dream of learning are met with determination and purpose, and  truly make our students stars!  We celebrate with and for them!
What A Night!

At the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland on May 5th, almost 300 people enjoyed a fun-filled night of celebrating Springer!  Guests mingled during the cocktail hour while putting their bids in for silent auction items.  Then it was time for a delicious dinner and sharing some laughs with Local 12's Brad Johansen while bidding on spectacular live auction packages.

During the evening, fashion designer and author, Dana Buchman delivered a well-received personal message of how it feels to be the mother of a daughter with learning disabilities.

Thanks to everyone involved, especially our hardworking chairs-Margie Tondow and Betsy Ayres, the fundraiser netted more than $82,000 for financial aid and outreach programs!

Did You Know?

It's not too late to give to Springer's Annual Fund Drive which runs through June 30, 2010!   The Annual Fund is the main fundraising source of Springer's financial aid program.  It forms a partnership of investors - trustees, families, alumni, faculty & staff, corporations, foundations, and individuals in the broader community.  The resources from the Fund enable Springer to meet the needs of children with learning disabilities regardless of their financial circumstances.  Give to the Annual Fund Drive and be a part of Helping Children Believe in Themselves!

Running Away with the Championship!

Upper School students - Williams Heekin, C.J. Elfers, Luke Collins and Liam Dorward ran the 4 x 100 relay at the CYO City Championship Meet on May 15th and won 1st Place!  Congratulations to these four guys on a fantastic race and finish!

Good job to ALL Springer track members for their efforts as part of the team!  Thank you to the many parent volunteers and to the coaches - Mark Phelps, Debbie Phelps, Kristy Ilg and Cari Kelly.  Another great year of competitive fun!
A Year of Giving Back

Springer students have learned first-hand this year what it means to make someone else's life a little brighter by participating in "contributory activities", that is, contributing or making a difference in their community.  Activities have included making blankets for Ronald McDonald House, singing for residents at St. Margaret Hall, collecting warm winter clothing for the FreeStore, writing letters to veterans on Veterans Day, designing cheerful posters for kids at Shriners Hospital, and

volunteering during their recess time making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the Walnut Hills Soup Kitchen.  Caring for others brings much joy, for all involved....what a great lesson to teach our students!
