Greetings!
Sometimes our students say it best! Julia, an Intermediate student, recently penned the following during Writing Workshop.... "Springer is a place for kids with learning disabilities. The teachers are great with students. They encourage us to try, even when we think we can't. I have been going to Springer for three years. I love it a lot. It has been the best three years of my life."

Downey Fund Grants Foster Partnerships There is a strong, ongoing relationship between Springer and the University of Cincinnati thanks to a grant funded from the Harriette R. Williams Downey Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation. With the Downey Fund grant, a program was developed called "C4C" - Collaborating for Collaboration. Center Director, Barbara Hunter along with Chet Laine, Stephen Kroeger, Karen Troup and Karen Haring from UC's School of Education developed C4C to prepare teachers to meet the needs of all students, regardless of their abilities. As part of this five year partnership, in-service training days have been held with area teachers coming together and learning skills and strategies from UC and Springer staff members. Twenty school districts have benefited from this program! UC and Springer continue to learn from each other, and the collaboration has led to better training for teachers in our community. Says Barbara Hunter, "We're preparing teachers to deal with the diverse learning issues in their classooms. It really has evolved into a beautiful relationship."
