Admissions Open House

adimissionsProspective families and community professionals are invited to learn more about Springer during an informative Open House on February 11th. At 9:00am, Springer staff will share the Springer history and mission during a presentation and video.  Springer students will then provide a hands-on, fresh perspective during the Student-led tour starting at 9:30am. Please forward this email to families or professionals you think might be interested, and email our Admissions Office if you need more information.
Just for Parents - Register Today!

ReadingYou can learn strategies to help your child with reading by registering for Springer's February 11th parent program - Supporting Reading Development. This class will give you tools to better understand your child's reading difficulties and ideas for creating learning opportunities at home. The program time is 7:00-9:00 pm and cost is $10. Springer Receives Dater Foundation Grant

DaterThe Charles H. Dater Foundation has awarded a $10,000 grant to Springer School and Center for technology enhancements to Reuben Hall. This generous grant will support improvements needed to maximize student, parent and educator outreach. The Dater Foundation makes grants to non-profit organizations in the Greater Cincinnati area to carry out programs that benefit children and focus in the areas of arts/culture, education, healthcare, social services and other community needs. Helping Your Adolescent Achieve Academic Success

Calling all teachers and parents! Want to gain a better understanding of the learning challenges faced by adolescents with learning disabilities? The National Center for Learning Disabilities web site is featuring an in-depth interview with Dr. Don Deshler that addresses how to help adolescents with learning disabilities achieve academic success. Dr. Dreshler is the director of the Center for Research on Learning at the University of Kansas. The November LD Talk transcript can be found here.
For almost 40 years, Springer School and Center has empowered students with learning disabilities to lead successful lives. Today, Springer teaches learning strategies to 200 day-school students, provides information and referral services to the community, and offers programs for students, parents, and teachers. Springer School and Center is the only resource in the region dedicated entirely to learning disabilities.
