| All Aboard!! KCN Railroad Opens May 1 |
The 16-gauge railroad on the north section of the Line Creek Community Center and Ice Arena, 5940 NW Waukomis Drive, is open weekends and holidays from May through September.The train will not operate in inclement weather.
Hours: Saturdays, 10:00am-6:00pm; Sundays and Holidays, Noon-6:00pm
Cost: .50 cents for a single trip ticket; 10-trip tickets are $4.50; and 20-trip tickets are $9.00.
Groups: Groups may charter the train on Fridays only. For reservations or more information, call 816-436-0576. |

StoneLion Puppet Theatre presents Mother's Day for Mother Earth - a FREE event- featuring The Greatest Show is Earth, a puppet show of enormous proportions, as well as a pre-show with Mr. Stinky Feet - Jim Cosgrove!! Come see these amazing puppeters and volunteers bring their artistic creations to life while promoting a positive image of clean water and caring for our planet Earth.

Thimble Thursdays Begin May 12 | |
Bring your lunch, kick back and enjoy some great performances every Thursday from May 12 to June 23 in Garment District Park (one block west of 8th & Broadway). These lunchtime concerts are a great way to relax and bonus they are FREE!! Concerts run from 12:15-1:00pm. This year's line-up includes:

Sign them up today so they can join in the fun by competing in basic track and field events and have a chance to receive an all expense paid trip to compete in the annual North America Final Meet in Hershey, PA. The majority of KC Parks' outdoor public pools and spraygrounds will open on Saturday, May 28! With an Aquatics Center, three diving pools, nine swimming pools, 11 wading pools, and 14 spraygrounds, KCMO Parks and Recreation can keep you cool this summer!!

*Neighborhood pools (Arbor Villa, Ashland Square, Gillham and Jarboe) open Sunday, June 12!
We can also host your next birthday party, teach you how to swim, or train you to become a lifeguard.

The exhibition, "Crowned in Glory", celebrates this tradition with photographs of women from the Kansas City metro area wearing their church hats. The exhibit is based on the bestselling book, "Crowns: Portraits of African American Women in Church Hats". |
