Chouteau Parkway Public Open House Scheduled for May 13

April 20, 2010 . . . A public open house is scheduled for Thursday, May 13 to update businesses and residents on the anticipated schedule of improvements planned for Chouteau Parkway. The open house will take place from 5:30 to 7:00pm at Chouteau Elementary School, 3701 N. Jackson, Kansas City, Missouri 64117.

Improvements for Chouteau Parkway include reconstruction and widening 3/4 miles of existing two- lane roadway to a four-lane divided parkway with adjacent multi‐purpose trail on Chouteau Parkway from Parvin Road to Highway 210.

Historically, a portion of Chouteau Parkway's two-lane segment has been a point of congestion between the four-lane segment that extends from Front Street north to Route 210 and the four-lane segment that extends north of Interstate 35. By providing the four-lane connection to the south and north, improvement to this section of the Parkway will improve mobility, safety and provide for the efficient movement of goods and people.

The Chouteau Parkway improvement is a cooperative project of the Kansas City, Missouri Public Works and Kansas City, Missouri Parks and Recreation departments.
