Dippin' Dogs Party

Unleash the fun at The Springs Aquatics Center!  Bring the family dog for one last celebration before the pools are drained for the season.
 
Sports Radio 810 WHB's host Kevin Kietzman will be broadcasting live.  There will be dog businesses, rescue organizations, door prizes, contests and give-aways! All dogs, and children under 10, must be supervised by an adult. Admission is $10 and proceeds benefits KC Parks and local rescue organizations. Visit the Dippin' Dogs website for details.
Tour of Missouri

The top professional cycling teams in the world will race through Missouri September 7-13 for the third Tour of Missouri. For the first time, the 612-mile race will conclude in Kansas City with a circuit race that will take riders through the greater downtown area, Penn Valley Park, along the riverfront and KC's historic boulevards and parkways.
 
RACE DETAILS
Circuit length: 10.2 miles (7 laps); Total length: 72.3 miles
 
Who: 120 cyclists from 15 teams, including seven teams that won 14 of 21 stages of the recent Tour de France.
 
Start/Finish: Crown Center, Grand Boulevard at Washington Square Park (just north of Pershing Road), Race begins at 2:00pm
 
Special Events:
Health and Wellness Expo, 12:00-6:00pm. The Expo will include food, beverages, exhibitors, vendors, children's activities, bike demonstrations and free bike parking.
Bike Helmet Give Away, 12:00-6:00pm. Stop by the Expo and get a free kid's bike helmet courtesy of Bike Source, while supplies last.
Kids Ride, 12:30pm. A free bicycle ride for children along part of the race course. Line up at Start/Finish Line on Grand.

Cyclocross racing will take place on Saturday, with mountain bike races and a trail run on Sunday.  Kid races will occur on both days.  The festival will bring to you all the latest and greatest in bike gear, bike information, trail guides and more!!

The event is managed and promoted by Heartland Sports Promotions (HSP) in partnership with Earthriders Trails Association (ERTA) and the KCMO Parks and Recreation Department.  The Kansas City Cup Festival is a fund raising event for the new trail network throughout Swope Park.
