64th AGM of the Sechelt and District Chamber of Commerce

Guest Speakers:
Patrick Nelson Marshall and
Mayor Darren Inkster.

Email invitation to follow.

President's Message
The District of Sechelt is holding two public hearings on March 31st.   Both hearings are scheduled to start at 7 pm as it is expected the 1st one (T & T Trucking) will be quick and they can move right into the 2nd one (Target Marine) without having to wait for a specific time.

The purpose of the Public Hearing is for the District of Sechelt to gauge the public support for the amendment application.  It is very important for those who support Target Marine's application to register their support.  This may be done by appearing and speaking at the Public Hearing or sending a letter to the District.

We have drafted a letter for those who wish to print it on their letterhead, sign and send it to the District.  Feel free to customize or paraphrase the letter.

You may think this matter should be decided on logic and the principles involved this is not the case.

It becomes a numbers game, a "straw poll" if you will.If Council thinks the majority of opinion at the Public Hearing is "for" or "against", they will decide based on the public sentiments expressed at the Hearing and written submissions.

Jim Cleghorn, President
